The Orangerie Museum is a museum of impressionist paintings located in Paris 1st arrondissement near the Place de la Concorde. Located in the Jardin des Tuileries, the Musée de l’Orangerie houses the collection of works acquired by Jean Walter and Paul Guillaume. This collection was bequeathed to the French state on condition that it never be disseminated. Since 1927, the museum has been housed in an old orangery of the Second Empire, designed to house the Water Lilies according to the presentation designed by Monet and then redesigned in 1965 to receive the Walter-Guillaume collection.
